“It was a positive quarter, although the economic slowdown will be felt, essentially, from now on”, explained Lu\u00eds Rocha, owner of the company.
\nAccording to the businessman, sales to the Iberian market also increased in this first quarter of 2020, compared to the same period last year, reaching an increase of 19.8% for Spain and 12.2% for Portugal, but he now fears a slowdown in transactions, due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Despite these contingencies, with around 50 jobs to secure, the businessman assured that the company “will continue to fight, not only for workers but also for the national economy”.
\nIn February, the company’s facilities located in the industrial area of La\u00fandos, P\u00f3voa de Varzim, were partially destroyed due to a fire, but a few days later Energie managed to resume production.
