En este punto, el fluido absorbe energ\u00eda del ambiente gracias al diferencial de temperatura existente en el exterior. Durante este proceso, el fluido cambia de estado y se transforma en vapor. El fluido gaseoso es entonces aspirado por la parte mec\u00e1nica del sistema: el compresor. En el compresor, el fluido se comprime, lo que provoca un aumento de la presi\u00f3n y, consecuentemente, de su temperatura. A continuaci\u00f3n, el fluido se desplaza hacia un segundo intercambiador de calor interno (condensador), donde transfiere el calor acumulado al sistema de calefacci\u00f3n de la vivienda. A medida que se enfr\u00eda naturalmente, el fluido vuelve a su estado l\u00edquido.
