Ici, le fluide absorbe l\u2019\u00e9nergie de l\u2019environnement du fait du diff\u00e9rentiel de temp\u00e9rature atteint \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur. Durant ce processus, le fluide change d\u2019\u00e9tat et devient de la vapeur. Le fluide gazeux est aspir\u00e9 par la partie m\u00e9canique du syst\u00e8me, le compresseur. C\u2019est ici qu\u2019il est comprim\u00e9, la pression s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve et par cons\u00e9quent la temp\u00e9rature du fluide augmente. Par la suite, le fluide voyage jusqu\u2019\u00e0 un second \u00e9changeur de chaleur interne (condenseur) et transf\u00e8re la chaleur qu\u2019il transporte vers le syst\u00e8me de chauffage du logement. Le fluide repasse \u00e0 nouveau \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat liquide en refroidissant.
