In questo punto, il fluido assorbe energia dall\u2019ambiente grazie al differenziale di temperatura presente all\u2019esterno. Durante questo processo, il fluido cambia stato e si trasforma in vapore. Il fluido gassoso viene quindi aspirato dalla parte meccanica del sistema, il compressore. Nel compressore, il fluido viene compresso, aumentando la pressione e, di conseguenza, la temperatura. Successivamente, il fluido si sposta verso un secondo scambiatore di calore interno (condensatore), dove trasferisce il calore accumulato al sistema di riscaldamento dell\u2019abitazione. Man mano che si raffredda naturalmente, il fluido ritorna allo stato liquido.
