ENERGIE was present at the 3rd International Congress Giacomini Portugal, which took place at the Instituto Técnico de Lisboa on February 6th. The event brought together experts and professionals from the sector to discuss the theme “Buildings of the Future,” focusing on new technologies that provide comfort, improve indoor air quality, and are synonymous with energy efficiency.
The 3rd Giacomini International Congress was a landmark event in the construction and climate control sector, bringing together around two hundred professionals to explore innovations that will shape the future of buildings. The event stood out for the presentation of innovative systems and solutions designed to transform the way we build, climate control, and live.
ENERGIE’s participation in this congress demonstrates its commitment to contributing to the fight against climate change and energy poverty in Portugal, through the promotion of innovative and efficient solutions. Eng.º Francisco, Technical Director and head of Innovation and Development at ENERGIE, was a speaker at the debate and addressed the theme “The contribution of Heat Pumps to the decarbonization of buildings.”
ENERGIE’s participation in this congress demonstrates its commitment to contributing to the fight against climate change and energy poverty in Portugal, through the promotion of innovative and efficient solutions.
In his presentation, Eng.º Francisco highlighted that Portugal is one of the coldest countries in Europe regarding the sensation and thermal comfort inside buildings, whether residential, commercial, business, or public. He also pointed out that the operating and consumption costs of heating/cooling systems are a heavy burden for families and organizations, and that discomfort, cold, and humidity can worsen chronic, respiratory, and cardiovascular diseases, increasing mortality in winter.
Eng.º Francisco argued that the issue of thermal comfort and energy poverty is not only solved with the quality and construction rules of buildings, but that it is essential to question and reflect on other themes, such as the prior study of the best solutions, the design in the project, the infrastructure on site, and the selection of demonstrably efficient air conditioning systems, using products of excellent quality and durability, as well as installation by certified technicians.
The speaker called for the union of efforts from responsible entities, construction industries, manufacturing and marketing of air conditioning solutions, architects, engineers, construction and installation professionals, importers and distributors, and all those who share responsibilities and tasks in this area, as a national goal. This event allowed ENERGIE to share its vision on the future of buildings and its contribution to decarbonization and energy efficiency, through the use of innovative technologies such as heat pumps.
ENERGIE thanked GIACOMINI PORTUGAL and its partner SANITOP for the invitation, and everyone involved for the success of the event.
